The Wolf Pack television series takes place in Los Angeles, California and the surrounding area. Government agencies are far less likely to notice the happenings surrounding a small town, and the Brock parents have far more social clout and power within the town of Redstone itself. The teens have far more wilderness to run and explore as werewolves without any major cities around them. However, the small town setting also offers a stronger layer of protection for the Brock siblings. On the surface, the small town setting might seem to be a harder place to keep lycanthropy a secret as everyone in town knows everyone else. ![]() Arson investigator Kristin Ramsey also highlights the mystery focus since her main role in the series is investigating the arson, an investigation which may draw her into the supernatural as well.Įdo van Belkom's Wolf Pack series takes place in Redstone, a small British Columbian town in Canada. By making half the pack new to lycanthropy instead of siblings, the television series can explore more varied pack dynamics outside the family bonds. ![]() Everett Lang and Blake Navarro's violent transformation and new introduction to the supernatural world provides an entry point to the werewolf lore for the audience as well. The television series' new characters all help support the series change into a supernatural mystery. In the Wolf Pack television show, the Brock family has been condensed into forest ranger Garrett Briggs and his adopted twin werewolf children Harlan and Luna Briggs. While the family is tight-knit, they do eventually begin to let more people in to their inner circle, such as Tora's boyfriend Michael Martin and her former bully turned close friend Maria Abruzzo. While Argus Brock sometimes struggles with Garrett and Phyllis' rules and his desire to seek out more of his heritage, for the most part, the teens listen to their adoptive parents and seek their guidance when they are in trouble. In van Belkom's book series, the Brock family's bond is strong. The age change also is in service to showrunner Jeff Davis' desire to tackle more sophisticated themes and the struggles teens face today. Harlan and Luna Briggs - the main characters based upon the Brock siblings - have also been aged up to 18-year-olds to reflect the series' older target audience. The series also includes the mystery behind the forest fire, which may or may not be connected with the werewolf and the supernatural as well. The series places much more emphasis on the mystery behind the werewolves' abilities and nature as Everett Lang and Blake Navarro come to grips with their transformation. The Wolf Pack television series is instead a supernatural mystery aimed at older teens. Even though the siblings often find themselves in danger, the overall tone of the series is more heartwarming, and the reader can trust that the family will be able to face whatever obstacles come their way. While the Brock siblings must evade scientists, hide their identities, and protect the land they call their home, they also deal with normal high school problems such as homework, bullies and school plays. The supernatural is simply a part of who the characters are rather than a major mystery they have to uncover. Edo van Belkom's original Wolf Pack book series was more of a teen family story aimed at young teens.
